I came up with this simple recipe for Maddie. She loves smoothies in the morning and she is a definitely berry girl! One thing she misses living a keto or low carb lifestyle is fruit so this keto smoothie satisfies her craving for fruit without all the sugar and carbs! It’s also full of healthy fats so it keeps her full or hours and eliminates any need to snack between meals!
My secret to a great low carb or keto smoothie is avocado! Avocado has great thickening power and creates a silky, rich smoothie! It also adds great healthy fat and a good amount of potassium which is essential for keto! If you’re dairy free, you could sub your favorite full fat dairy free yogurt or dairy free cream cheese for the real thing or simple leave it out! We typically use a mixture of strawberries, blackberries and raspberries to keep the carb count as low as possible but we have also used a frozen berry blend with blueberries and it works beautifully! Just note that the addition of blueberries will bring the carb count up a bit!

- 1/2 cup unsweetened almond milk
- 2 Tbsp. avocado
- 1 oz. full fat cream cheese
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 1/2 cup frozen mixed berries I use a mix of strawberries, raspberries and blackberries
- 7-10 drops Lakanto Monkfruit Extract or your sweetener of choice
- Pinch of Himalayan Sea Salt
Place all ingredients into the blender and blend on high until smooth! To make a thinner smoothie, add more almond milk till you reach desired consistency….you can also adjust the sweetener as needed!
If your berry mix contains blueberries the carb count will increase a bit. The nutrition facts are approximate and will vary based on ingredients used.
