I’ve had a passion for photography since my dad gave me his old 35mm camera in the 7th grade. After I took a photography class and I was forever hooked. Now this was back in the days when I rolled my own film, developed my own photos in a darkroom and actually preferred using black and white film…I thought it was so sophisticated! I took pictures of everything… wildlife, flowers, pets, people…anything I could. These days, things are no different! I still have a passion for photography, so when I need to step away from recipe and food photos for a moment outside of the kitchen, I grab my camera and go for a ride.
After a long days work, my favorite thing to do to unwind is to grab a drink and my camera and join the Cowboy for his evening fence check! When we have guests here at the Ranch, it’s not uncommon for me to be in the kitchen for 10-12 hours a day…and when I’m working on recipes for the site it can be even longer! So when everyone heads out to go home…this is how we ground ourselves and unwind a little. The fresh air, incredible scenery and wind through my hair is all I need for any stress to completely melt away.
Here are a few of my Ranch photos…Hope you enjoy!
