I love a good green smoothie to kick off my day and this Maple Almond Low Carb Green Smoothie has all the amazing breakfast flavors I crave!
It’s no secret around here that my preferred breakfast…if I’m not having keto coffee, is a smoothie. I know…bacon, eggs, sausage…all that yummy low carb breakfast food and I want a green smoothie….yep! I’ve never been much of a breakfast eater and when I do eat, or in this case drink, breakfast I just want something light that will keep me full through the morning. Don’t get me wrong, I love bacon and eggs but sometimes I need to change it up! I’ve experimented with a ton of smoothie combinations but this Maple Almond Low Carb Green Smoothie is my all time favorite. It has all of the breakfast flavors I love to experience in the morning…maple, cinnamon, vanilla, almond…delish!
On busy mornings around the ranch, we often don’t have time for a big breakfast so smoothies are frequently on the menu! Everyone has their favorite…Maddie loves strawberry, Paige is the chocolate lover and the Cowboy loves berries and cherries in his. I am the odd man out…I love a bright green smoothie in the morning! There is something about the color that just makes me happy! I’ve been making this Maple Almond Green Smoothie for years and about a year ago transformed it into a low carb or keto version which I love even more than the original!
It’s packed full of good for you ingredients like flax seeds, almond butter, avocado, spinach…it’s super satisfying, and will keep you full for hours! I think the reason I love it so much is that the almond, maple, vanilla, cinnamon combination reminds me of french toast which was my favorite breakfast treat as a kid! I know the combination sounds a little strange but trust me…but its a great way to kick off the day!
This Low Carb Green Smoothie is gluten free, dairy free, keto/low carb friendly and loaded with healthy fats and greens…plus it’s super creamy and tastes amazing! Great for a quick breakfast or healthy and satisfying midday snack…only 4.1 net carbs!
Maple Almond Green Smoothie
Ingredients
- 1 cup unsweetened almond milk
- 1 tbsp avocado
- 1 tbsp almond butter, heaping
- 1 1/4 tsp Pyure
- 1 tbsp golden flax meal
- 1 cup baby spinach about a handful
- 1/4 tsp maple extract
- 1/4 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/8 tsp cinnamon or too taste
- 2-3 ice cubes (optional)
Instructions
- Place all ingredients into a high speed blender and blend on high until smooth and creamy! Pour into glass and enjoy!
