The Southern Keto Cookbook!

I’ve literally been dreaming of writing a cookbook since I was a kid. I was probably the only 10 year old that worked all summer to perfect their French croissant recipe! I’ve always felt a deep connection to food an the experiences surrounding it, and thanks to the many bustling kitchens I grew up in, I know first hand the joy, comfort, love and heart warming impressions amazing, home cooked comfort food can leave on someones soul.

I’ve always been a huge introvert, but my food was always the one way I could communicate with people who I was. It was hands down my favorite part about owning a restaurant and it’s the best part of being able to share these recipe with you!

Over the past few months, I’ve put my heart, soul and much of my history into this book and I’m super proud of the recipes in it. In the beginning, I thought 100 recipes would be so difficult to come up with, but in the end it was so hard to narrow down to 100 for the book! I tested a ton of recipes, served them up to unsuspecting Ranch guests and family and finally narrowed it down to a collection of 100 keto Southern inspired recipes that embraced the comfort food classics with a healthy dose of new, inventive recipes mixed in!

Hours upon hours of time went into filling the pages of this book with inspiration, encouragement, family moments and stories, memories of my childhood and of course delicious keto recipes!

All 1oo recipes in this book are made with whole, real foods, no prepackaged “keto” foods, cause that’s the way my Granny did it! The recipes are designed to satisfy everyone at the dinner table, even the pickiest, carb lover. In fact, that’s why I tested my recipes on unsuspecting guests! I knew if they loved it, cleaned the dish, and had no clue the food was healthy or keto, the recipe was a sure fire winner!

Allergen Labels & Tips

All the recipes include allergen labels to indicate whether a recipe is dairy-free, nut free, egg- free, etc and all the recipes in the book are gluten free! Many recipes also have tips and options for eliminating allergens and tweaking the recipes to fit your individual dietary needs.

The majority of the recipes also have tips on time saving, troubleshooting or variation tips to show you how to change a few ingredients to get a whole new recipe!

Chapters in The Southern Keto Cookbook

The book has a total of 10 chapters with 9 of those full of recipes. Chapter one is all information on the Southern Keto kitchen, Keto tips, pantry staples, and more. Chapters 2-9 are as follows:

  • Breakfasts, Brunch & Breads
  • Appetizers & Snacks
  • Salads, Sides & Soups

  • Hi, Emilie – I am looking forward to The Southern Keto Cookbook because, as a blog follower, I have always been incredibly pleased with your ketofied versions of many of our Southern staples and favorite recipes. Food is a integral part of our Southern identity, and your recipes have allowed us to remain keto while maintaining treasured family traditions. Plus, you always have fantastic ideas for using the never-ending supply of processed game that finds it’s way into my freezer and for that I will be eternally grateful!!!

  • I found your blog only recently and have made your jambalaya and etouffee, both of which were delicious and such a nice change of pace for our keto table. I didn’t even know you’ve been working on a book and you can bet I’ll be ordering it. PS. I’m in Texas, too.

  • Looking forward to trying out your Southern keto recipes as I too am a Texas girl and who doesn’t love Southern Home Cooking. Thank you for providing us some southern hospitality.

  • Can not wait to get our book. I am a native Texan transplanted in Mississippi and missing the foods I grew up on as a child. I know that your cookbook will be become a favorite because I am now having to have gluten free meals and just learning about Keto diet to boot. I saw this cookbook and immediately had to reach out on your website on how excited I am that you are putting this book out. Please keep them coming!

  • Looking forward to trying the pecan pie bars. I’ll have to tweak the recipe for my dairy-allergic son but with kids who are vegetarian and allergic to gluten and dairy I’m used to having to tweak. 🙂 Good luck with your book!

  • Counting down the days to April 7th – the amazon release date. We continue to enjoy your recipes each week. Having a collection like in one beautiful cookbook is priceless for the person or family living a true Keto lifestyle.
