Quick & Easy Holiday Frito Bark

Quick & Easy Holiday Frito Bark

If sweet and salty is your obsession, I cannot think of a better holiday treat than Holiday Frito Bark.  Sweet, salty, crunchy and creamy with toasted pecans…this is probably of my favorite holiday splurges!  With only 4 ingredients, this super simple bark makes a great gift or treat for your holiday table!

One of my favorite holiday treats growing up were those miniature ritz crackers filled with peanut butter and dipped in white chocolate.  I believe this is when I fell in love with the sweet/salty combination.  Something incredibly magical happens when you combine crispy and salty with creamy, sweet white chocolate…its insanely good.  Oddly enough this was and is the only way I like white chocolate…besides these scrumptious morsels, I am a dark chocolate lover through and through!

Holiday Frito Bark

Well, this Holiday Frito Bark uses gluten free corn chips for the salty component and crunchy texture of this holiday candy, making it a fun and unique gluten free holiday treat!  The addition of toasted pecans adds just the right touch of buttery nuttiness helping to tame the sweetness of that white chocolate and  to top it all off…a drizzle of semisweet chocolate crowns this epic treat!

To make this Holiday Frito Brittle you can use tempered chocolate or almond bark.  Both will work well, but if you are not familiar with how to temper chocolate or don’t want to mess with it, you may want to stick with the almond bark.  Tempering chocolate can be tricky and if not tempered correctly the bark will not harden properly and have that snap that we all look for in the perfect chocolate bar.  If this happens just keep it in the fridge!  If you are looking for a sugar free version of white chocolate to use, check out this recipe for Low Carb Chocolate Bars from Low Carb Yum.

The best part about this bark or any bark is really the ability to customize it!  Have some fun with the kids and feel free to dress it up with jimmies, sprinkles, stars or any other festive decoration you have around the kitchen…or keep it classic…it’s all up to you!

Whether packaged up as a homemade gift or on the treat table at your holiday party, this Holiday Frito Bark will quickly become a holiday favorite!
